A lot of young children, me included, were just young and lost. Care Corner and their teachers’ love, support and guidance shaped my life.

At nine years old, Shane joined Care Corner Student Care Centre (SCC). Before that, he often returned to an empty home, with lunches lovingly prepared by his mother but had already gone cold. He was also a spirited boy, always full of energy - sometimes more than what his mother, a single parent juggling both work and home, could manage.

Everything changed when he joined Care Corner SCC. There, he found warmth — a warm meal after school, a safe space to learn and grow, and a group of friends who soon felt like family (and whom he initiated a Lion Dance club together with!). Those years were filled with moments that shaped not only his character, but also the values that guide him through life.

Today, Shane is an accomplished actor and actively gives back to the community and Care Corner, hoping to offer others the support he had once received.

Looking back with gratitude, he is happy to see his friends all thriving in their own ways, as good husbands, dedicated entrepreneurs, and positive role models. He attributes his success to his teachers' unwavering guidance and Care Corner's support.
