Get behind a cause - give your time, money, energy or effort. Just a little bit of effort can benefit so many people. What better way to have a more lasting impact.
In 2017, Leonard Kong founded Lion City Ruckers, a social rucking club, inspired by his experience at a 12-hour GORUCK event. Since then, the club has organised various rucks, such as 40-km round-island treks, fun ones like donut and pizza rucks, and festive ones such as Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve rucks. These activities not only promote fitness but also unite the community for meaningful causes. A notable collaboration is with Singapore Children's Society, where they rucked to deliver gifts and joy to vulnerable children at Christmas.
Leonard's commitment to social causes extends beyond Lion City Ruckers as he serves on the board of a charity focused on youths-at-risk. His passion for helping underprivileged youths was sparked during his early volunteer work in Melbourne, where he helped organised adventurous activities for children whose parents are incarcerated or lost to drugs - offering them opportunities for normal childhood experiences.
Through his involvement in sports, Leonard has witnessed the growth and potential of at-risk youths. Believing in the power of small efforts to create significant impacts, Leonard continues to advocate for supporting meaningful causes. His philosophy is also reflected in his approach to rucking, which he promotes as an accessible and inclusive fitness activity.
