X-QUEST is an early intervention initiative aimed at breaking the cycle of underachievement among children aged 10 to 13 from low-income families. With a focus on nurturing Executive Functioning (EF) skills, this 3-year programme is designed to equip children with the tools they need to thrive academically and socially.
Transitioning from primary to secondary school can be a challenging time for children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. X-QUEST intervenes during this critical period, offering vital support to help children navigate the transition smoothly and avoid negative outcomes in both academic performance and emotional well-being.
At the core of our programme lies the development of executive function and self-regulation skills. By laying down these foundational skills early on, we help children to navigate the complexities of secondary school with confidence. These strengthened emotional regulation skills during childhood then lays the groundwork for resilience in the face of future challenges in their adolescence and adulthood.
More than just our children, we also engage the entire family unit. We recognise the pivotal role parents play in their children's development. Through family engagement sessions, we empower parents to become active partners in their children's growth, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to support their child's growth effectively.
While there are programmes offered in commercial markets that targets EF, the cost of enrolling in them can be financially straining for our families. Some of them may not have the bandwidth to learn about the existence of such programmes. Hence, X-QUEST fills a gap by providing accessible, affordable and high-quality programming tailored to the needs of disadvantaged communities.
To expand the reach and impact of X-QUEST, we need your support. With your generous contributions, we can broaden access to this life-changing programme, reaching more children and families in need.
